While watching her walk to her departure gate, he sees her leave a briefcase on the ground and runs to return it to her to no avail. вЂњWait, a plot?вЂќ ask the two villains.ДЄt the very beginning of Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd Christmas drives a woman called Mary (because Mary Christmas, har har har) to Rhode Island Airport and quickly falls in love with her for the simple fact that she tolerates his inane conversation. It is a caper wherein the protagonists are unaware that they are in a caper. Yes, it has one! And itвЂ™s actually a really good one which forms a coherent and plausible backbone for the entire film, and is largely responsible for me not hating this film.В So what is this plot that is so great that it can even be remembered after the film is over? ItвЂ™s a mistaken identity farcical comedy. One thing I do NOT remember about Dumb and Dumber, however, was the existence of a plot. But hey, apparently it was memorable to a young girl (and at what cost?)! Apparently it is just a throwaway moment in a very, very long dream sequence and one wonders why it was even necessary. My friend also remembers a dream sequence which involves Lloyd lifting up a womanвЂ™s skirt to reveal that she is wearing no underwear. I only later discovered how delicious grilled prawns are and how wrong Americans were to ridicule it. Put another shrimp on the barbie!вЂќ in a bad Australian accent, which was my introduction to the American belief that Australians grill prawns (no, not вЂњshrimpвЂќ) at their barbecues.

Both of us loved it as children, but given our experience with this marathon so far, the enjoyment factor was looking grim for this one.ДЄs an Australian, the main thing I remember about Dumb and Dumber was JimвЂ™s Carreycter Lloyd Christmas saying вЂњgвЂ™day mate.

That is why my friend and I have put off watching this movie until the last possible moment rather than in chronological order with the other two Jim films released that year ( The Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective).

When I contemplate re-watching a film called вЂњ Dumb and DumberвЂњ, the first thought that comes to mind is вЂњoh noвЂќ.
